The Life and Journey of Us Writers

2016-07-01 10:47:40 in Writing Inspiration by Maja Rogic

Getting to know each other as a part of Pagebacker community is maybe what these 3 weeks of extended competion will play a huge role at. So, my question(s) to all Pagebackers is (are): why do you write?

What drives you and motivates you to write? How often do you write? What is your greatest inspiration? (hopefully it's not green paper :D )

What was the last book you've read?

Well I wouldn't call myself a writer. Let's just say the right ideas come to me in the wrong moment and I just keep them locked up in my memory or sometimes write down the prompts in my diary. Not sure about 'greatest inspiration'. The last book I have read is 'The Stars My Destination' by Alfred Bester. Sci-fi lover here.

I write because I feel like my ideas are knocking on the door of this world and I have to let them in. I also feel like it is a great way to reduce stress. About motivation...well, to be honest, I don't really know. It's like some sort of drug. I feel like I have to get my daily dose of words. I write every single day. This is thanks to me keeping a diary. I try to capture the happy little moments in my life. Once in a while I cook up a short story too, but not as often as I used to. I have to study a lot, so there's not much space left for writing. My greatest inspirations are my dreams. They are extremely vivid and if I could, I would never wake up from them. The last book I've read was the Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. It was an extremely useful read and I would recommend to anyone who wants to rewire their habits.
